The first live wasn’t so bad

Hey Reader, Here’s the recording for that, so check it out and subscribe to Children’s Book Marketing TV on YouTube if impromptu’s like this are helpful for you. And while we’re at it, let’s turn this into a teachable moment about choosing the right platform, ok? See, I used to go live on Instagram, but find that the pace required for posting to keep your feed fresh is faster than I’d like to keep up with. Shoot, I have a hard enough time keeping up with this “multiple posts per day” dynamic on TikTok, where I promote my author brand, so duplicating that kind of effort for 2 different sets of messages to serve 2 different audiences isn’t something I want to do. Plus, what I teach has an evergreen component, meaning it’s not trendy and you can come back to it a year from now and whatever I’ve taught will likely still be very relevant. A place like YouTube allows videos to get circulation for weeks and months beyond when they’re released, and that’s the kind of long-term visibility that leads to growth. So, since my focus has shifted to showing up more in a space that has a longer runway and greater reach for my longer-form content, like these coaching moments that tend to be far more verbose than what a short-form video allows, the channel is about to get all the love it’s been missing since I created it a few years ago. Did I mention that was my first time doing a live on YouTube!?! Well, it was and I was not expecting to have the time or space for it; howEVER, the little guy fell asleep and I seized the moment 😄 A few people joined me that are complete strangers, and I’m all the way ok with that if it means helping authors in our genre get more books released and sold. For more on coaching in topics like crowdfunding for launch, branding your business, and earning bulk sales of your children’s books, join Children’s Book Marketing Lab today for 28% off the annual membership!
